Different era, but consider 10/15/76. This is my fave from this under-rated year. The tempo is probably almost 1.5x the 73-74 versions, but the jams are sooo tight. It's short (quality over quantity) but Jerry, Keith, and even Bobby are completely dialed in...and it's got a sweet transition to a hot TMNS. (And stick around for the Comes a Time > Franklin's Tower.) Of course, the Honorable Charlie Miller's master is my rec: http://www.archive.org/details/gd1976-10-15.sbd.miller.84260.sbeok.flac16.

As for those mentioned above, they are all among my favorite shows except 06/18/74 (aka Road Trips, which I boycott--I'd gladly pay $ for the entire show...just don't give me someone's idea of the 'highlights'). [Anyone willing to share?]

Well that SOB Some Dark Hollow already stole my 10/29/77 thunder (actually, quite thrilled that he pointed it out as it IS my all-time favorite), but I'm a firm believer that 1977 was THE year for "Eyes" (not that there;'s anything wrong with those '73-'74 versions--they're brilliant as well), so here's another '77 I think gets overlooked, but is nevertheless a gem that deserves to be heard:

Fantastic opening jam reminiscent of some of the 1976 versions, and great playing to follow.

Another topic, another page in the favorites, demanding all the shows to be heard. Great stuff.

I can not believe NOBODY has mentioned my favorite Eyes, of course, its Red Rocks 7/7/78. It being one of the coolest places on earth has nothing to do with this vote.

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I always do. Look forward to hearing the feedback.

Not sure if I think it's my favorite, hard to decide because I love this song so much I have a lot to choose from... but I have always loved 8/1/73, Jerry's birthday at Roosevelt Stadium, NJ. I think because it's Jerry's 31st ? birthday, I love this version. I love the lyrics of the song and think it has a bit of a birthday theme, sort of, if you care to think of it that way, or one of awakening. "In another time's forgotten space, your eyes looked from your mother's face"

and Straight to the goods:

Partial Set II 1. Dark Star > [24:52] 2. El Paso > [4:24] 3. Eyes of the World > [20:05] 4. Morning Dew [13:17]

There's a new AUD in from Jerry Moore, but that part of the end of set II isn't on it, so no Dark Star, Eyes etc.. I haven't given a proper listen yet- TJI:

There are other great SBDs of the whole show on the archive and there is a free version on Nugs.net. Love the versions you guys have picked, too. Can't wait to see some more come in.

Oh my god! you got me there. Just checking to see if you were paying attention. I don't know what the hell I was thinking about there. I think I might have been following my Dead dreams to another land... Of course, yes I love Franklin's Tower too. And of course, the whole birthday theory has to go on over to Franklins, unfortunately they didn't play that song as of 1973, haha. Jerry's birthday or not! Well, I think I just like this show because it was his birthday and they must have been partying down. And the whole Dark Star > El Paso > Eyes > Dew is awesome! By the way, I love lots of these shows being mentioned in this thread, especially 73, 74, and 76, 77 too.
